Preparing for surgery
Upon booking your procedure, our Practice Staff will provide you with all of the information you need, including:
Admission details: admission time, directions
Adjustments to your usual medications: If you are taking regular medications it is important that you provide us up to date information about these so that we can assess if anything needs to be adjusted in preparation for your procedure.
Bowel preparation instructions: Bowel preparation is often required prior to colorectal surgery. If you are instructed to use a bowel preparation prior to your procedure, you will be provided clear directions regarding your diet and any medications for bowel preparation at the time of booking. It is important that you take the time to read these instructions carefully and well in advance of your procedure.

Staying informed
Jayson will discuss the details of your procedure with you after your procedure including findings, procedure details, what to expect and aftercare instructions
Guiding you through recovery
You will also be provided with comprehensive written information regarding post-operative care, such as the below examples. This will include instructions about modification to your usual work and personal activities, medication adjustments, what to expect, and advice about when to get in touch.
Staying in touch
You will receive a phone call from one of our practice nurses within 3-5 days of your procedure, to check in to see how you are recovering. A follow up appointment with Jayson will also be scheduled for a later date. Most questions you may have can be answered during this call, but a follow up phone call with Jayson prior to your follow up appointment can easily be arrange if needed.
